Sandra has been and educator for many years, serving in various roles in the district. Her experiences include teaching English I and Learning Strategies at a high school for 9 years to special education students. She also served as a staffing specialist as well as teaching night school to high school students in a credit retrieval program. Sandra holds certification in History 6-12, Exceptional Education K-12, Educational Leadership, and through her doctoral work has specialized in Autism.
Sandra has served as district administrator for multiple years; as a program specialist for the North Learning Community, where she coordinated the special education programs and services for 25 elementary schools, 6 middle schools and 4 high schools. She also served as the Program Specialist for Secondary Curriculum, working with high school Inclusion Coaches to monitor and improve graduation outcomes for students with learning disabilities, monitoring reading programs for middle and high schools, and working with school administrators to increase inclusionary opportunities for students with disabilities.
Sandra's focus at FDLRS will be on grant management, community and district collaboration, leadership and program support.
